The apprentice class of 2024

A new intake of Terra Cat apprentices this year signals the start of an all-new training programme for our first-year recruits! Ranging in age from 16 to 31 years old, this 11-strong group from around the country will undertake a new training programme as Terra begins a partnership with Hastings Deering to provide hands-on training in Brisbane.

A big welcome to our latest intake of Terra Cat apprentices. This year signals the start of an all-new training programme for our new recruits.

Ranging in age from 16 to 31 years old, this 11-strong group from around the country will undertake a new training programme as Terra begins a partnership with Hastings Deering to provide hands-on training in Brisbane.

For the first three years of their apprenticeship, they'll travel to Hastings Deering twice a year for training. In their fourth year, they will then reconnect back into the Terra technical training programme.

This will give our apprentices better access to resources, tooling and equipment to enrich their training and learning experience. They'll gain hands-on experience with advanced tools and learn from 10 dedicated apprentice trainers working in a cutting-edge environment.

Under this new framework, all apprentices now undergo a consistent, and structured four-year training programme; this removes the variability in completion times and guarantees everyone has the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience to become a fully qualified technician.

The number of apprentice training days also increases from 27 in 2023 to 157 this year, significantly enhancing their learning and contribution to our branches and customers.

We believe this programme will make it easier to attract, retain and motivate our apprentices and will enhance their employee experience.

We're excited to have you in the Terra fold and look forward to seeing your growth journey over the coming years.
