On 12-16 August 2024 one of our Tauranga-based technicians Brenton Page will represent Terra Cat and pit his skills against nine of the best Cat technicians in the Asia-Pacific, in the First Regional Qualifier of the first-ever Caterpillar Global Dealer Technician Challenge in Melbourne.
If he places in the top three, he’ll progress to the semi-finals in Spain next year, with the opportunity to then compete against the world’s best at the grand final at ConExpo, Las Vegas in March 2026.
“I’m both nervous and excited about Melbourne; there’re some mixed emotions,” Brenton admits.
Terra does some awesome things, so it’ll be good to see how other techs interpret and approach the contest.
Brenton (34) has competed in Terra’s Top Technician competitions for the past two years, jumping at the opportunity to upskill and extend himself both personally and professionally. However, the Melbourne-based contest is a completely new competition.
No-one knows what it’ll look like, other than the fact we know there’ll be 10 different stations that we’ll be assessed on.
"That’s both exciting and a bit scary,” he laughs.
